artist's website

stumbled upon this little ditty the other day. a lot of his work seems repetitive.. something like this: :) :) :) :) :) :) :).

but you have to respect the dedication of a guy who draws nothing but smiley faces for two years (07,08,most of 09)

portrait of my friend denise

finished it! (aka i give up). denise is the hardest person in the world to draw. i think there's one or two other people that can vouch for this.

zak smith study

at first drawing from smith's picture seemed daunting and tedious but when i started picking out only the essential lines, and drawing large outlines of shapes (filling in with sharpie instead of pen) the process became a lot easier/faster/more fun.

monday night fig drawing

the drawing group i go to on monday nights is filled with ladies in their 50s and 60s...
they feed me cookies and brownies and smirk at each other when the older surfer gentlemen takes off his board shorts.
its great fun.

printed fat cat on some t shirts

i think this means im homesick.

oil on fiberboard of a petting zoo goat

met this goat at the petting zoo. he was sad. taking pictures of him probably didn't help much.

birch ply wood-cut of fat cat

i screwed up the cast shadow cuz im an idiot. so, it won't be there in the final print.

oil on fiberboard of me wearin jon's t-rex hat

jon isn't around to tell me if i'm painting everything gray/seafoam green... so this is difficult.

grapite drawing of my friend, denise dolan

needs some work. denise is a lot prettier in real life.
