angela elledge with a zebra cloak

This is an ink wash and graphite drawing I did for the different strokes from different folks year end portrait exchange. Angela painted a picture of me and I drew a picture of her; I took quite a bit of artistic license in my interpretation, hopefully she won't mind. If you'd like to take a look at the portrait she did of me, you can find it here: Angela Elledge.

  4. Hello Dan,
Hey that's me with a Zebra on my head! I recently posted a self-portrait using the same photo that you used and I have to say it never occurred to me to think "outside the box".

It's funny that you should take this direction because I have been extremely busy with commissions of people's pets...mostly dogs, a couple of people portraits, a horse, and believe it or not a pet goat. With that being said, for many, many months I have thought of nothing else except the work/deadlines and responsibility of getting this work completed on time! How interesting that you chose to illustrate me with the "weight" I've been carrying, although I like your interpretation much better! Great job with a most original and creative concept; Sheila is right, you deserve a blue ribbon.

I look forward to seeing more work from you in 2010. I wish you a very Happy New Year!
